Foods to avoid with Trulicity

In this blog post we discuss about foods to avoid with trulicity.

Foods to avoid with trulicity

Trulicity is a type 2 diabetes medication that was approved by the FDA in January 2014 to be used as a stand-alone therapy or with other diabetes drugs. Trulicity works by increasing insulin production from your pancreas and helps you use your insulin better. In addition, Trulicity also slows down how quickly food moves through your stomach so it can help control blood sugar levels after meals.

Foods to avoid with trulicity

It’s recommended for people with type 2 diabetes who are over the age of 18 and have not been able to achieve their glucose goals on basal insulin alone. Trulicity comes in two forms: one injection once weekly and three injections per week.  As with most medications, there are some foods to avoid with  trulicity in order to get the best results from your treatment.

The major problem with Trulicity is that it can interact badly with certain types of food. For example, if a person has been prescribed this drug and they consume alcohol or grapefruit juice, they could experience adverse reactions like low blood sugar levels. There are other items one should not eat when taking Trulicy including: smoked salmon; fresh fruit; whole grain breads; alcohol (including beer, wine, spirits), grapefruit juice; avocado; high-fiber vegetables like broccoli; high-protein food like eggs and meat; herbs such as basil, cilantro (coriander) dill weed, fennel seed, parsley seed.

Some of these foods may interact with the medication and cause an allergic reaction, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Consult with your doctor about what you can eat while taking trulicity if at all possible before eating any new foods in addition to it.There are many common foods to avoid with Trulicity. The list includes fast food pizza, doughnuts, French fries, ice cream, cookies and anything else where there is more than 10 grams of saturated fats or added sugars per serving size which is 15 grams per 100 calories worth of the food item.

This drug works by stimulating the release of insulin when blood sugar levels get too high. However, if you are not careful with what you eat while on this medication then it can result in an increased risk for hypoglycemia or low blood sugar levels.

What is the average weight loss with Trulicity?

Trulicity is injected once per week and delivers 3mg of the active ingredient (a GLP-1 receptor agonist) to help lower blood sugar levels. The medication has shown promising results in lowering A1C levels by 1% when used alone or when combined with other treatments for type 2 diabetes. There are also reports that show patients who use this product have lost weight after one year on the medication. It’s important to consult your doctor before using any new medications

However, it’s important to note that the average weight loss with Trulicity varies from person to person and there is no set amount of pounds someone can expect to lose. That being said, studies have shown an average weight loss of 5% over one year in those taking Trulicity as prescribed.

Is it better to take Trulicity in the morning or at night?

Trulicity is a diabetes medication that has been known to help reduce blood sugar levels and also lose weight.  It can be taken as either once daily in the morning or at night before bedtime.  Either way it works great. When you take your medication is up to you, but it’s important to consider how taking Trulicity after waking up might affect your blood sugar levels and lifestyle.  If you’re not sure which option works best for you, talk with your doctor about what will work best for achieving diabetes treatment goals.
