Doxycycline ruined my life. Do you suffer from a minor infection and go to the doctor? If so, then you may have been prescribed doxycycline. This antibiotic can be used to treat many issues such as Lyme disease, acne and other bacterial infections. However, there is one side effect that people don’t think about when taking this drug; it can cause permanent discoloration of your skin.

How bad is doxycycline for you?
Doxycycline can cause severe stomach problems such as nausea and vomiting which may require a hospital stay to recover from it. Doxycycline can also cause blurred vision or sensitivity to light in some people so they should not drive or operate heavy machinery if this happens.
Serious side effects may also occur including increased risk of sunburns and sun sensitivity, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), loss of balance. Other possible side effects are less common but may be serious and require medical attention: muscle weakness, joint pain, easy bruising or bleeding from the nose (epistaxis), mouth (stomatitis), vagina (vaginitis); skin rash that does not go away after treatment with doxycycline. Some of these are extremely common, while others are rare and much more dangerous. “Although it’s not uncommon for patients to experience side effects when taking doxycycline, some people are more sensitive than others and may experience serious problems and in rare cases death.
Can doxycycline make you crazy?

Some people have reported experiencing mood swings after taking doxycycline and others have even claimed that they felt as though they were going crazy while on this medication. As a result of this finding, many doctors now recommend patients stop using doxycycline after a course of antibiotics is completed because there may be an increased risk for these symptoms from long-term
